METRICS ACTIVATION PROGRAM (MAP) & BEHAVIOURAL ACTIVATION SERVICES & PROGRAMS
Research shows that prolonged absence from work and disengagement from typical activities of daily living can be detrimental to an individual’s mental and physical health, whereas re-engagement in activities (both vocational and avocational) will preserve pre-injury skills, increase confidence and increase self-efficacy. There is extensive evidence that the longer a worker remains out of the workforce, the lesser the likelihood of them successfully returning to work. Extensive research and evidence have been published, supporting the use of clinical interventions, including activation programs, to minimize the likelihood of long-term disability and maximize individuals’ activities in their homes, workplaces, and communities. Some of the programs Metrics offers include our very own Metrics Activation Program (MAP), Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP), as well as customized behavioral activation services and programs.
MAP takes an evidence-based approach to maximize functional abilities and activities, and minimizing disability and disengagement from the workforce, through the delivery of a 4- or 6-week multi-dimensional vocational rehabilitation intervention.
PGAP is a standardized 10-week intervention program with the goal to maximize the rate of progress in rehabilitation and reducing the impact of chronic disability.
